Back then it earned several overall victories in what was at the time the most powerful engine class around. The wedge-shaped short tail car had optimised handling and was introduced in the 1970 season. That year there were four Porsche 917Ks in the Sebring 12h race. It turned out to be one of the most thrilling Sebring 12h races ever. The blue and white Salzburg livery was also part of the action.
