Expertise and quality of model making at the service of a passion
Description
History
For the last 8 years Corvette Racing has dominated the GT1 category of the American Le Mans Series. Since they began, their race spec Corvette has won at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and since 2005 they have been competing the C6R against world-class grand touring cars from automakers like Aston Martin.
In 2009 the factory backed racing effort chose to step down into the GT2 category in order to compete with the same cars on the track that the production model competes with in showrooms.
The Corvette race cars are powered by 6.0 litre GM small block that is based on the 7.0 litre LS7R that powered the outgoing GT1 version. The engine output is a relatively conservative 470 HP.
