The Mazda 767B #230, entered by the privateer team Pleasure Racing, competed in the 1991 Suzuka 1000 km as part of the Japanese Sports Prototype Championship (JSPC). Driven by Japanese trio Tetsuji Shiratori, Masatomo Shimizu, and Shuji Fujii, the car finished a strong 7th overall and 1st in the GTP class, completing 147 laps. Despite being technically outdated compared to the factory-backed 787B, the 767B proved its durability and effectiveness on the demanding Suzuka circuit.
