Description

2035-3 = new version since December 2021 with slightly improved performance data.

Attention, compared to the previous version of this motor, the + and - on the motor are reversed. i.e. the motor now rotates exactly in the opposite direction with the same cable connection. If you don't want your car to drive in the opposite direction when you swap the old engine for the new version, the cable connections must be swapped.

Large flange: yes
Screw holes: 2 x M2 threads
Motor shaft on both sides

The sober data say nothing about the unique driving behavior. For engines with 35,000 rpm. one fears rather impassable rioters, as there are already enough on the market. But the Slotdevil 2035 is completely different. Installed in a Slot.it, Scalextric or Carrera, the engine shows its true capabilities. Buttery soft but very powerful, it accelerates from the bottom up to the sky-high of 35,000 rpm. Even our previous showpiece Slotdevil 2024 doesn't stand a chance against this engine. Even on tight, twisty courses, the 2035 is a few tenths faster than our old 2024.

The motor is a bit more angular on the side with the screw holes and not as rounded as e.g. B. a Fly or Slot.it series engine. This doesn't matter with most standard motor mounts, but there are problems with a few. With the Fly Sidewinder holder e.g. For example, the axle bearing and engine housing get in each other's way a little bit. Here you just have to file off a small corner on the housing or even better on the fly bearing with a file or cut it with a saw. You can cut or saw so deep on the motor that the anchor becomes visible. It is essential to avoid metal shavings falling into the motor!! At this point there is nothing in the housing that would be damaged. Even in Slot.it engine mounts, some Carrera EVO and PRO-X, the engine does not fit in unpolished. However, the work is within limits and is feasible for an average slotter.

Does he have bad brakes or not?
Unfortunately we don't know that for sure. There is a discussion about this engine in the Freeslotter Forum. Some claim there that he brakes badly, others say exactly the opposite. The Car On Line newspaper and Jim Hunt magazine tested it. Both tests certify the engine's excellent driving behavior and have nothing to complain about when it comes to braking.

Our conclusion
The engine is a stunner when it can rev up its revs really nicely. So on club tracks with long straights. It's also rideable on twisty home tracks, but that's not its ideal environment. To be on the safe side, it should be translated shorter there, or maybe it would be better to install a Slotdevil 2024 instead.
