Antonio Zanini is one of the legendary greats of Spanish motor racing. Accompanied by his inseparable wing-man, Josep Autet, the guy from Viladrau displayed his talent for decades on tarmac and tracks around the world, including Dakar. Capable of winning with almost any car that he was handed, Zanini´s track record is amazing. Highlights include European champion, Spanish Gravel Rally champion and eight times outright Spanish champion. The last of these awards (1984) was achieved behind the wheel of a very special car: the spectacular Ferrari 308 GTB. A street model highly modified by the Italian specialist Giuliano Michelotto, who increased the strength of its V8 3.0 litre engine to 280 HP, among other improvements. The result was an unbeatable machine, a rare bird which clearly dominated in the Spanish championship races making it possible, along the way, for Ferrari to appear on the top spot of the podium in one speciality, rallies, not common for the Italian manufacturer.
