The Ferrari 312 T4 was the fourth evolution of the successful 312T series, with which the Maranello brand won a total of 27 great prizes between 1975 and 1980.
Throughout the 1979 season the 312 T4 proved its reliability, and its innovative aerodynamics to exploit the ground effect allowed Ferrari to face on the track the Lotus 79. Ferrari would finally make the Constructors' World Championship in 1979 after winning in 6 big prizes, with three wins for Joddy Schecker, who would also win her only Drivers' Championship, and three more victories for the ill-fated Gilles Villeneuve, who would take the runner-up to only 4 points from her partner.
That 312 T4 was the last Ferrari to win a Formula 1 World Championship before the arrival of Michael Schumacher, 20 years later.
