On May 1st, 1994, during the San Marino Grand Prix, a mechanical failure took the life of racing legend Ayrton Senna, one of Formula 1’s greatest heroes. Thirty years later, at the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix, McLaren honored his memory with a special tribute livery on Lando Norris’ McLaren #4 MCL38.

This commemorative design now joins the expanding lineup of AFX Formula 1 cars, celebrating both Senna’s enduring legacy and McLaren’s remarkable achievements.

The 2024 season marked a historic comeback for McLaren, earning their first Constructors’ Championship title since 1998. The MCL38, designed by former Red Bull engineer Rob Marshall and powered by a Mercedes-AMG F1 M15 E Performance 1.6-liter V6 turbocharged engine, achieved 21 podiums and 6 Grand Prix victories.

Lando Norris, McLaren’s lead driver, piloted the #4 car with exceptional consistency and skill. Born in Bristol to a Belgian mother and English father, Norris began racing karts at just seven years old in Glastonbury. With multiple F1 seasons now behind him, his 2024 campaign solidified his reputation as one of the most talented and reliable drivers on the grid.
