Description

The Bugatti T59 comes straight from the imagination and factories of Ettore Bugatti and his son Jean. It was produced in 8 copies between 1933 and 1936. It succeeds the T51 of 1931 and the T54 of 1932. Two additional models were manufactured later with original spare parts.

This model is equipped with motor #5. It was driven by René Dreyfus who won 3rd place at the Monaco Grand Prix and victory at the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa in 1934. In 1937, the Type 59 Sports became the fastest car in France.

Painted black and yellow stripes in 1938, the Belgian sovereign Leopold III (grandfather of the current king Philippe) acquired this model which he kept until 1967. It has been used for royal events that add a touch of glamour. Its link with the Belgian royalty makes it an invaluable collector’s item.

This model is considered the most elegant pre-war sports car. Its design and fluid lines make it still a model of reference today.
